Rhodes Colony and Starbase 12

Located in the beautiful Fries-Posnikoff sector, Rhodes colony was founded in 2205, and has until now been one of our most solidly established colonies, providing a paradise home for over 12 million inhabitants of several different races, predominantly human, but we also have a Vulcan and a Betazoid comunity. Rhodes colony is the leading factor in the economy two whole sectors, providing not only a safe and relaxing heaven for any who wish to visit, but also giving a sense of security and safety to the people of this area, thanks to the high orbiting Starbase 12! Home of WMEGA FLEET!

Our fore fathers arrived here on the USS Horner, a ship that by those day's standards, was not only colossal but also the most modern! USS Horner, a Deadelus class Starship, NCC 617, braught some one thousand colonists, to what was then considered "The Frontier", or "The Edge. They were bold and adventurous, comming to a planet that was mostly Jungle and land locked seas, and turning it through Terraforming and Landscaping into a real paradise, ressembling in certain areas earth, and in others, exhibiting a unique variety of vistas.

Construction of Starbase 12 began two years after the colony was founded, and was finally finished arround 2220, when it was finally inaugurated. It has been upgraded many many times, having newer weapons and defensive systems installed, and becoming with each generation stronger, and more important. Being located near the Romulan and the Klingon borders, and looking out to the sightly Typhoon expanse, Starbase twelve has become one of the most important Starbases in Star Fleet, vestowed upon it the recent honor of playing Head Quarters for Omega Fleet. For several years now its role has been double, as it has become also one of the most coveted ship yards, having notably been the Yards where the Enterprise E was built. This picture was taken aboard the Shuttle Obe-Wan, and it portrays The USS Endeavour B on final leave, outbound towards the deep and dark Unknown.

Today, as stated above, Rhodes Colony has grown to 12 million inhabitants, and leads the economic and social trends of two sectors. Being not only an importantand long established Colony of the Federation, plus a statement of human inventive and desire to expan, but also one the favourite Vacation spots for the whole Star Fleet. Defended ofcourse by Starbase 12 and Wmega Fleet.
